Idle air control valves help you get maximum fuel efficiency and power from your engine. A properly operating idle air control valve is an essential component to helping your vehicle run flawlessly. These valves are often referred to as idle air control or IAC valves (GM), automatic idle speed or AIS valves (DCX), and throttle air bypass solenoid or AIR valves (Ford).
