Hey Chris, I've been meaning to get a hold of you since the build. I really liked the EFI setup. The episode went great and without hiccups. I think it was the smoothest build I've been on so far. Thanks for donating the system. I was very impressed with it. Super easy and straight forward. Everything fired and ran great on the first key turn. Just what you want under that kind of pressure! I think everyone was pretty excited to have a true EFI system on the show. It was nice to mix it up. Thanks again for your support. Kevin Byrd Here's a testimonial from a customer that bought our system, and was then convinced by one of our competitors that their "self tuning" speed density system would give them more power, and the ability to tune it on his own if he desired. Well, the self tuning feature didn't work (never does!), and he was not able to improve the tune on his own, so he took it to a professional tuner. That didn't work either... Dear Chris, Well, after running one of the competitors systems, the one that looks like a carburetor, I have decided to switch back to the Mass Flo EFI system. I initially decided to change to the competitors system because of the promise of more power and the allure of the laptop programming capabilities. Boy, what a mistake! I paid 1,000 dollars to have the system tuned in and even after forking over all of that money the system still never ran right. I wasted countless hours with my laptop hooked up to the car and on the phone with customer support, but no matter what I tried the car just would not run well and bugs could not be worked out. The statements that you have posted on your website concerning these types of systems are 100 percent accurate. They are expensive, they are not any better than a carburetor, they are a hassle, they require constant laptop fiddling, they don’t self tune well, and in my honest opinion they are a waste of time and money. I have deeply regretted switching out to this competitors system. I cannot wait to get the mass flo system installed back on my car. It is truly an awesome system and I look forward to being able to enjoy my car again in the near future. I know your system will put the smile back on my face when I drive it. Thanks for all you do! Chris A. Hello Chris, Been running the T-Bucket with a 400 SBC for over 27 years and have logged over 250,000 miles. Converted to your EFI setup and can say it has never run better. Last June I rigorously measured my fuel mileage from Dallas to Sierra Vista, AZ and back to Dallas. Only 13.8 mpg on the highway. Put 92.9 miles on the bucket yesterday (city miles and I drove it hard, went to lunch, at least 30 stoplights). Got 19.9 mpg in the city! I'm going to drive to Springfield, Ill in a few weeks and hoping for 22mpg, almost as good as my Ford Fusion. Update... Wanted to follow up with you on my trip to Springfield, Ill. Used a GPS to measure the mileage and kept track of the fuel usage -- 22.1 mpg on the highway plus I was pulling a small trailer. Significant improvement over the 13.8 mpg with the carb. Great EFI setup! Tim T I thought this one was kinda funny.... Hello Chris, I just completed the installation of your mass flow EFI system on my 502 big block airboat. Your kit was very complete and installation was very straightforward. We fired it up last night and after completing the start up procedure we tested it out. Still hooked to the truck and on the trailer we fired it up and I had my guy in the truck put the truck in neutral. I fired the big block up and let it warm up a little, then we increased the RPM’s and the truck started to move. This seemed to be a good load test for the motor so I had him steer the truck toward the street. I revved the motor and started to accelerate. I was pushing him 65 mph when he finally started to hit the breaks. The power was very smooth throughout the power band. We pulled back into the shop and checked for fuel leaks and everything looked great. I am very happy with the injection kit. I will forward you some pictures when I get a chance. Anyway, I was not sure if anyone had installed this system on an airboat application in the past. Previously we were running a Holly 650 and had issues with the floats bouncing when we trailer the boat, as well as dieseling when we turned the motor off. All those issues have been resolved. Mike C Hello Chris, I just want to let you know that the truck is running great with the changes I have made, i.e. new heads and cam. When I purchased and installed your Mass Flo system on the Chevy 5.7 liter I was hoping for some improvement in performance, but what I got was unbelievable. This engine has come back to life. The performance is awesome. When you step on the accelerator the truck moves! It is fun to drive again, and it’s hard to keep my foot from pushing the accelerator to the floor just to feel the power. I haven’t checked the fuel economy yet but it seems to be better than the original throttle body set up. Also, installation of the system was fairly simple considering I had to install it on an already computer controlled vehicle. I look forward to the time I can install one on a carbureted engine. As I told you on the phone I will definitely recommend to my customers putting this system on their car. Thank you again for all your help and support during installation. You certainly went above and beyond my expectations and will recommend your product to others. Jim K. Chris, Your EFI kit is the single greatest mod/upgrade I have ever installed on my Mustang. Of course every year something inevitably gets changed or added. This year it was your EFI kit. Given the components in the motor, it had absolutely horrible street manners. It’s off idle characteristics were terrible. Now that it has EFI, I can cruise around town in 4th or 5th at 40mph without all the herky-jerkyness of the past when it was carbureted. It doesn’t run rich anymore and therefore doesn’t burn your eyes at a stop light! Your product is light years beyond first rate and overly simple to install. Simply put, my Mustang is absolutely a thrill to drive once again thanks to Mass Flow EFI! Thanks so much Chris, Robert S. Hello Chris, I have to admit I was a little skeptical when we first spoke about your Mass-Flo system, and the results I could expect to get from installing it on my Ford 428 FE big block. Now that it is installed, I must say that everything you said it would do, it has done. The installation was very easy with the instruction manual provided, and it all went very smoothly. Talking about smooth... It runs great now. It always starts right up whether hot or cold, and never stumbles anymore when leaving a stop. The gas mileage has even increased by over fifty percent! Living at close to 7000 feet altitude, and driving down to sea level and back used to always call for roadside carburetor adjustments, but now with my Mass-Flo system installed, that is a thing of the past. Jeff G. Hey Chris, Just wanted to get back to you. I am truly impressed. Not only did I gain substantial horsepower and torque, but I also gained much more drivability. The idle is smooth, no more surge, the accelerator is like butter and the response when you step on it is instant. I will say this, "Incredible gain for little money." This was the right thing to do. Jim M. Hi Chris, I dropped everything off at the shop on Monday night and test drove the truck Wednesday night!!! My buddy/mechanic says BEST quality instructions, BEST quality components he has seen in a long time. The engine fired right up after setting timing and checking fuel pressure. Last night did a 10 mile run. I was able to drive off right away cold WITHOUT DRAMA. It performed very smoothly and more power than the carb that was well tuned and always performed as best as expected (feels like 50 more hp). It's a super torque monster set up and very responsive, my heavy Chevy powered Discovery flies and feels very "modern" now. Can't wait to try it off road on steep angles etc... Bolt on and drive away....?????? YES!! And smells clean/correct out the back without cats yet!! Here's what I added: I just want to profusely thank Chris from Mass-Flo EFI. He helped me through this entire project. Without him I could not have done it. This guy is really a great resource for anyone here. His products are number 1, and I wouldn't think of making any changes from here on in without talking to Chris 1st. His new system is really, really amazing. All of the problems I had before are now gone. No more stalling, smooth throttle, incredible drive, and WOW, holy power! What a sound too! Completely different that my previous setup. Elie K. I wanted to get the Mass-Flo system installed and tested before the annual "Snakes To The Lake" trip we take every year to Lake Tahoe. I feel this would be a great test for the system, going from sea level to 9,000 ft. and back in a three day period. When everything arrived, I was quite pleased with the workmanship and quality of the product. The instructions were clear, but who needs those anyway, it was time to get busy! Once everything was installed, I fired it up. No hesitation and no stumbles during warm up. The system was better than my Cobra intake in that it didn't want to "hunt" when cold. Once the engine got warmed up, it was great! Lot's of power, good throttle control, and the idle speed was great. No more hunting at idle! When you hit the secondaries, you know it! It just wants more! I never got that with the Cobra intake. The trip to Tahoe was great. NO PROBLEMS! NO ISSUES! NO NOTHING! This system works GREAT! Driving up the mountain highways, the engine ran without problems. Every one thousand foot marker I stomped down on the throttle just to see what it would do. It pulled and pulled until I ran out of engine! Pushing the car through a lot of twisty's and hill climbs and downhill runs, it didn't miss a beat. In fact, I didn't even think about what was under the hood anymore, it just worked flawless. As a side note, I got over 22mpg. on the trip. I put over 650 miles on the system and was tickled to get that kind of mileage. Remember that a lot of the driving was well over 5,000 ft. for three days while driving the car hard at times and in the 3k to 6k rpm range quite a bit. Mileage in the Sierra's was over 17mpg! I'm sure some of you carburetor users know what it's like when you're at 9,000 ft. and your engine won't run right. There were a few cars on this trip with that issue.
